Overseas Missions
Act Globally! The Florence Vineyard Christian Church believes in being witnesses and instruments of God’s kingdom to the ‘ends of the earth’ specifically through evangelism and church planting. In an effort to use our resources and gifting effectively we are focused on two areas of the world, Guatemala and Mozambique. Check out the link ot the right to find out more about upcoming missions to these places. However, if you feel a calling for another part of the world we may be able to assist you in finding a Vineyard in the United States that can direct you.
How can I be involved?
Whether you want to complete an application, pack your bags and go, or be involved in regular prayer for those who are going, there is a place for everyone in overseas missions. Specifically we are looking for people who:
* Want to go on short term missions
* Pray for missionaries or the countries
* Donate finances to the ministry
* Donate air miles or flight passes
* To provide language instruction to missionaries
* Support the families of missionaries
What does it take to be a missionary?
Our missions are very diverse. Some of our teams may go and be involved in construction or medical based activities. Other teams might lead worship seminars, demonstrate the Vineyard Prayer Model, or be involved with youth outreach. Most involve some form of Servant Evangelism. We will be ministering to the poor, the middle class, the imprisoned. Some missions will be rugged in nature and will require days of dirt road travel to the destination, while others will remain within the capital city limits. We are looking for all giftings, skills and experiences. Full training is always provided for each mission. No experience is necessary.
Why should I go?
Perhaps God is calling you. Perhaps you have a gifting we could use. Either way, to go to the nations is an integral part of discipleship. If you have gifts, God will use them.
I have never been overseas, let alone done a mission. Does that matter?
Not necessarily. Through the application process the Florence Missions Board will determine where your gifts could be used the most effectively. We will also look at your experience, comfort level and current level of discipleship. Training for all missions is provided, and all logistics are handled by an experienced team. Relax, you won’t be going alone!
